Archive: A V Klipstein (7th June 1801 - 15th April 1906)

Professor of mineralogy at Giessen. 1836; he described Triassic faunas from the Dolomites: Beitrage zur Geologischen Kenntniss der ostlichen Alpen (1843). In 1851 the Natural History Museum purchased a considerable part of his collection including many of the figured Triassic invertebrates; other material went to Budapest.
